FareBuddy Terms of Use

Welcome to FareBuddy. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the FareBuddy mobile application ("App"), operated by FareBuddy Ltd ("FareBuddy", "we", "us", or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the FareBuddy App.

1. Description of Service

FareBuddy is an independent companion tool designed to assist ride-hailing drivers by providing real-time, on-screen visual indicators, trip metrics, and informational insights based on information visible on the user's device.

FareBuddy:

Does not accept, reject, trigger, initiate, or manage ride requests
Does not automate any driver actions
Does not interact with or modify third-party applications
Does not control or influence ride-hailing platforms
Provides informational guidance only

All decisions relating to ride requests remain entirely the users responsibility

2. No Affiliation with Third-Party Platforms

FareBuddy is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to any ride-hailing, transportation, or delivery platform.

All trademarks, logos, service marks, trade names, and platform names remain the property of their respective owners.

References to third-party platforms are provided solely for identification purposes.

3. Third-Party Platform Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of FareBuddy complies with the terms, conditions, policies, and requirements of any third-party platforms you use.

FareBuddy:

Does not control third-party platform rules
Makes no guarantees regarding compliance with third-party policies
Is not responsible for any actions taken against your account by third-party platforms

4. No Automation or Interference

FareBuddy is a strictly passive and informational tool.

FareBuddy does not:

Accept, reject, trigger, initiate, or modify ride requests
Automate any actions within third-party applications
Simulate taps, clicks, gestures, keystrokes, or user input
Communicate with ride-hailing platforms on behalf of users
Alter, block, delay, or manipulate any platform interface
Modify the functionality of any third-party application

All interactions with ride-hailing platforms remain fully manual and under the sole control of the user.

FareBuddy provides informational insights only. All decisions relating to ride requests remain solely the responsibility of the user.

5. Visual Indicators and Widgets

FareBuddy may display visual indicators, widgets, borders, or informational overlays on your device.

These features:

Are purely informational
Do not modify or block underlying applications
Do not replace or disable application interface elements
Do not affect touch input or user controls

Any visual information provided by FareBuddy is intended solely to assist users in reviewing trip-related information.

6. Data Usage and Processing

FareBuddy processes information visible on your device screen to provide real-time trip insights and visual indicators.

Important:

All trip analysis, text recognition, and calculations are performed locally on your device
FareBuddy does not transmit ride-offer details, screenshots, screen recordings, screen frames, or OCR results to FareBuddy servers
FareBuddy does not share ride-offer details, screenshots, screen recordings, screen frames, or OCR results with third-party services
FareBuddy does not build or retain datasets of ride-offer information
No ride-offer information is stored on FareBuddy servers

FareBuddy may collect limited anonymous analytics, diagnostic information, crash reports, and technical performance data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not access information beyond what is necessary to provide FareBuddy's functionality.

Visual detection may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate due to device settings, operating-system restrictions, screen layouts, network conditions, or changes made by third-party applications.

7. Platform Permissions

FareBuddy may require certain permissions depending on the device and operating system being used.

Android

FareBuddy may use:

Accessibility Services
Display Overlay permissions

These permissions enable FareBuddy to detect visible trip information and display informational indicators.

iOS

FareBuddy may use:

Screen Broadcast permissions
Picture-in-Picture (PiP) functionality

These permissions enable FareBuddy to analyse visible trip information and display informational indicators.

FareBuddy Does Not

FareBuddy does not:

Track keystrokes
Collect passwords or login credentials
Record audio or telephone calls
Record or store screen broadcasts
Perform remote control or automation
Modify system behaviour
Accept, reject, trigger, or interact with ride requests on behalf of users

By enabling these permissions, you consent to their use solely for the limited purposes described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

8. iOS Screen Broadcast

On supported iOS devices, FareBuddy may use Apple's Screen Broadcast functionality to analyse information visible on the user's screen and provide real-time trip insights.

Important:

Screen content is processed locally on the user's device
Screen content is not recorded or stored by FareBuddy
Screen content is not transmitted to FareBuddy servers
No screenshots, screen frames, OCR results, or ride-offer details are sent to third-party services
Screen Broadcast is only active when manually started by the user
Users may stop Screen Broadcast at any time

FareBuddy does not use Screen Broadcast to control, influence, accept, reject, trigger, or interact with ride requests.

9. Job History and Offer Log

FareBuddy may provide a Job Log or offer-history feature that stores analysed trip metrics for the user's reference.

Important:

Job history is stored locally on the user's device only
Job history is not transmitted to FareBuddy servers
Job history is not shared with third parties
Users may delete their stored job history at any time through the App

Users can manage and delete their stored data from within the App by visiting Account Settings and selecting the available deletion options.

10. No Guarantees or Professional Advice

FareBuddy provides estimates, insights, calculations, and indicators based on information visible on your device.

We do not guarantee:

Accuracy or completeness of information
Accuracy of calculations
Earnings, profitability, or financial outcomes
Availability of any particular trips
Suitability for financial, commercial, or business decisions

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FareBuddy shall not be liable for:

Loss of earnings, income, revenue, or profit
Missed opportunities or trip outcomes
Account restrictions, suspensions, or terminations
Business interruption
Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

12. User Responsibilities

You agree that you will:

Use FareBuddy lawfully
Comply with all applicable laws and third-party platform requirements
Not misuse, exploit, or interfere with the App
Not attempt to reverse engineer any third-party platform using FareBuddy
Not use FareBuddy in a manner that violates these Terms

You remain fully responsible for all actions and decisions taken while using the App.

13. Intellectual Property

All App content, software, branding, design, graphics, functionality, and related materials are the intellectual property of FareBuddy Ltd.

All intellectual-property rights in the App belong to FareBuddy Ltd.

You may not:

Copy
Modify
Reproduce
Distribute
Reverse engineer
Create derivative works from
Commercially exploit

any part of the App without our prior written consent.

You may not use the FareBuddy name, logo, branding, or materials without written permission.

14. Subscription and Billing

FareBuddy may offer subscription-based access to certain features.

By subscribing:

You agree to recurring billing through the applicable subscription provider
Pricing and billing cycles will be clearly disclosed before purchase
Free trials, where offered, may automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
Subscription management and cancellation are handled through the applicable app marketplace

Payments are typically processed through platforms such as Google Play or the Apple App Store.

15. Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to FareBuddy at our discretion, including where:

These Terms are violated
Abuse, misuse, or unauthorised activity is detected
Continued access could expose FareBuddy to legal or operational risk

You may stop using the App at any time.

16. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

The latest version will always be available on the FareBuddy website www.farebuddy.app

Continued use of the App after any changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

You remain fully responsible for all decisions and actions taken while using the App
