What is FareBuddy?
FareBuddy is a smart companion app for ride-hailing drivers that helps you quickly see whether a trip is worth your time before accepting.

It analyses the information already shown on your screen and displays a simple visual indicator:

🔵 Blue = likely profitable
🔴 Red = likely not worth it

No guessing. No mental maths. Just clear decisions.

How does FareBuddy work?
FareBuddy looks at key factors from the job request, including:
- Price per mile
- Price per minute
- Pickup distance (dead miles)
- Estimated journey time

Based on this, it shows a real-time visual border so you can decide instantly if the trip is worth taking.

Does FareBuddy accept or reject jobs for me?
No. FareBuddy does not accept, reject, or manage any jobs.
You remain fully in control at all times. It simply provides a visual overlay to help you decide faster.

Is FareBuddy available on iOS?
iOS does not currently allow third-party apps to access or draw over other app screens. Because of these strict restrictions FareBuddy is only available for Android devices only.

Does FareBuddy interact with Uber or other apps?
No FareBuddy is completely passive:
-It does not interact with any apps
-It does not modify any app
-It does not press buttons or automate anything
-It only displays a visual overlay on your screen.

Is FareBuddy safe to use? Will I get banned?
FareBuddy is designed to be fully compliant with how drivers normally use their phones.
-No automation, No interference, No control over other apps

We have also checked with Uber support team, who confirmed that tools like this can be used as long as they do not negatively impact the app, which FareBuddy does not.
You remain fully responsible for how you use any third-party tools, and this guidance is not an official endorsement.

Does FareBuddy record or store my trips?
No, trip data is not stored/ No ride history is saved, No personal ride information is collected
All calculations happen in real-time on your device.

Do I need to enter any data manually?
No. FareBuddy works automatically using the information already visible on your screen.
There is nothing to input. Just turn the monitoring button on and drive. 

However you do have the option to adjust your profitability margins using the 'Adjust thresholds' section and tailor the types of jobs you see as either Red or Blue.

Why do I need Accessibility permissions?
FareBuddy uses Accessibility permissions only to read visible text on your screen so it can calculate trip profitability.
-It does not read messages
-It does not capture passwords
-It does not store personal data
-It does not track what you type
This permission is essential for the app to function.
 

Will it slow down my phone or apps?
No FareBuddy is lightweight and designed to run in the background without affecting performance.

How much does FareBuddy cost?
Farebuddy has a 30-day free trial for all new users, thereafter,
£6.99 per month after trial
You can cancel anytime through Google Play.

Is it worth the price?
Even skipping just one low-paying trip per day can easily cover the monthly cost.
