FareBuddy (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a companion app for professional ride‑hailing drivers. The App provides real‑time, on‑device visual indicators based solely on information visible on your screen.

We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

By using FareBuddy, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

FareBuddy does not collect, store, transmit, or share any ride request information, trip details, rider data, pickup/drop‑off locations, maps, or screenshots from ride‑hailing platforms.

All trip‑related analysis occurs locally on your device only.

We may collect limited technical data:

4. Permissions Used

FareBuddy requires two Android permissions:

Accessibility Service

Used exclusively to read visible text portions of ride request cards so the App can generate real‑time indicators.
We do not read passwords, messages, personal data, or background activity.

Overlay Permission

Allows FareBuddy to display passive, non‑interactive visual borders on your device screen.

FareBuddy does not:

Interfere with third‑party apps
Automate any actions
Modify UI elements
Accept or reject rides
Block interaction with other apps

These permissions are essential to providing core functionality and are active only when monitoring is enabled.

5. Data Retention

We retain anonymous analytics and crash logs for up to 12 months, after which they are deleted or permanently anonymised.

Support emails may be retained longer if required for troubleshooting or compliance.

6. Data Security

We use industry‑standard security measures, including:

Secure Firebase infrastructure
Encrypted communication where applicable
Restricted access to all diagnostic data

We do not store any trip data or sensitive content.
